Quick summary
- In the current app build, your Monetrax data stays on your device.
- You choose whether Monetrax can read supported transaction SMS.
- Information leaves the app only when you export or share a file yourself.
What Monetrax does
Monetrax helps you understand supported transaction SMS by turning them into a dashboard, reports, merchant summaries, budgets, alerts, and exportable records.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Monetrax app and the Monetrax website.
What information Monetrax uses
If you allow SMS access, Monetrax reads supported transaction messages and the details inside them, such as sender name or number, amount, date, reference, merchant name, and balance when those details are present.
The app also saves your preferences, such as dark mode, alerts, hidden totals, automatic scanning, biometric lock, and export protection settings.
What stays on your phone
Your transaction history and settings are stored on your device inside the app.
In the current Android app build, Monetrax does not send your transaction history to a Monetrax server for cloud syncing.
When information can leave your phone
Your information can leave the app only when you choose to export or share a file yourself.
Monetrax currently supports PDF and Excel exports, and exported files may exist outside the app after you save or share them.
Your choices and controls
You can turn SMS access on or off through Android permissions, stop automatic scanning, turn alerts off, hide totals, use biometric protection, and add password protection to exports.
You can also review the original message behind a transaction and change categories when needed.
Retention and deletion
Data stays on your device until you clear app storage or uninstall Monetrax.
If you saved or shared exported files, you will need to delete those copies separately. Android backups may also restore some app data depending on your device settings.
